The Only Place That Actually Cares
“Hughes Page and the entire coaching team at Up Next have had a huge impact on both my sons’ lives. They treat these kids like humans and give them a safe and supportive space to get through various baseball challenges. The travel baseball industrial complex is known for exploiting kids and parents. Up Next exists outside of that system in our mind. Hughes is kind, emotionally mature, and an organized and effective business owner. We’ve had so many bad baseball experiences with baseball groups focusing only on their bottom line. Hughes, Nate, and the whole team genuinely care about these kids. They provide mentorship that is missing in competitive baseball. There are kids at Hughes who visit weekly or some that visit only a few times a year and the coaches give them the same attention and respect. Up Next is best at treating baseball injuries that you can’t see- they can get at the heart of the issue if you’re in a slump or have lost passion for the game. They can counsel you on next moves if you’re not happy at your current team or give you tough feedback that you trust. We are so excited for Up Next to move to their bigger space next door. We are rooting for them every step of the way!”
Exceptional!
“We stopped here while on our trip to DC to get some work in for my 2 boys. I was looking to find a cage between DC and Mount Vernon and we found Next Up. Hughes, the owner, was very friendly and super accommodating letting us use multiple areas of the gym and HitTrax to track our pitching bullpen. Nicely equipped with a stretch area with bands, four cages with machine or soft toss L screen and quality baseballs. A full length 60’ pitching area and all the equipment available like bats, balls, and a mitt if you didn’t have any while on vacation. We’ve been to many cages over the years and Hughes and his lil buddy Stevie the dog made our experience great!”
Highly recommend!
“I went here with some friends for an hour to use the full length batting cage for fun and we had a blast. Hughes the owner was very nice and attentive. Will definitely go back.”
Five stars!
“I recently had a lesson at Up Next baseball – I was 30 minutes late due to road closures in DC. I was initially upset about missing half of the lesson, but the coaches were incredibly understanding and reassuring, emphasizing that getting there safe was the most important thing. They not only allowed us to finish the lesson but also generously booked us another complimentary session. The energy from the coaches is amazing and they have great tips and drills. Highly highly highly recommend Up Next baseball for anyone looking to improve their skills in a positive and supportive environment!”
High Level Training
“Coach Page and all of the coaches at UpNext are amazing to work with. They don’t just go through drills like many coaches. They teach the physics of baseball which makes a huge difference in how a player approaches the game.”
Beginner Friendly
“Really excellent place. I got lessons to help a young fairly inexperienced player improve his hitting –instructors listened carefully to what we were looking for, figured out exactly how to help him, and have kept the instruction positive, fun, and effective. I just booked another three lessons and plan to use Coach Hughes and his team throughout the summer. Thanks, Coach!!”
Daily Training
“Hands down top notch baseball training and conditioning. It should be a daily if not 2-3 times a week part of a developing player’s training plan. Hughes and team know how to work with kids and target their specific needs in this customized setting.”
The Coaches Have a Gift for This
“These instructors are fantastic. Coach Hughes has such a gift for communicating to different age groups and ability levels. The energy is contagious. My players are always amped and motivated after each new lesson on discovering what they are capable of on the diamond. Registration is super easy and the staff is always quick to answer any questions.”
